2 Days to Remember!

Assalamu'alaikum...

Hari ni, saya diingatkan oleh seorang kawan lama tentang 1 kisah yg terjadi masa semester akhir pengajian, almost 7 years ago .. To be frank, that story never stored in my memory.. Haha, walaupun kisahnya agak kelakar.. Then tiba2, after 7 tahun, out of nowehere, diingatkan dgn citer ni.. So, I thought, why don't I just write it in here? Supaya 5 tahun, 10 tahun ataupun 50 tahun drp sekarang, kalau umur panjang, I can still had a good laugh like I had today.. =)

Akhir Sem 2 Tahun Akhir, seniors semua sibuk surf internet kat cyber cafe, applying for jobs, attending career fair, looking for any job vacancy ads in newspapers, and of course I was one of them.. Tak terkira resume dan cover letter yg kami hantar.. Risau bila dah grad nanti, tak dapat kerja.. Nak bayar study loan lagi, nak prepare utk convo lagi, semua nak guna duit.. Target saya satu je: Walau camna sekalipun, mesti kena dapat kerja kat Penang! By hook or by crook! Tapi, kalau dah ada rezeki kat tempat lain, takkan nak tolak pulak, ye tak?!

Hari berganti hari.. Kebanyakan kwn2 yg rapat dgn saya semuanya dah dipanggil interview, ada yg dah secure pun tempat kerja, maksudnya, before convo lagi dah leh start keje.. Risaunya hati ni, Allah je yg tau.. Takut tak dapat kerja.. Then, one fine day, sedang dok relax dlm bilik asrama, tiba2 dapat satu phone call dari satu company kat Johor ni mintak attend interview.. Alhamdulillah, punyalah excited, almaklumlah first interview, apa yg org sana cakap pun semua sy jawab, "Ya!" dan "OK!" Confident je.. Lepas tulis apa yg patut, so bermulalah persediaan utk menghadapi interview..

First, p cari baju.. Takkan nak attend interview dgn t-shirt dan jeans.. Kenalah ada imej sikit, apply position engineer pulak tu.. Tapi, time tu duit tak berapa nak ada.. Nasib baik kat U dok ada expo jualan.. Tak ingat pulak sempena apa, so saya pun belilah satu kemeja ni, dah tak pikir dah pasal warna, asalakan nampak ok utk dipakai masa interview nanti..

Ok, baju siap.. Document semua dah ready.. Tinggal satu je, nak cari member yg boleh hantar saya p interview tu.. Tiba2, dlm dok menceritakan masalah saya ni, adalah seorang hamba Allah yg cukup baik hati nak anta saya p interview tu.. And disebabkan dia lah, hari ni saya tulis citer ni..

So, hari yg dinanti dah tiba, dgn semangatnya saya suruh kawan saya datang awal.. Nervous kot.. Pas dia bebel apa2 yg patut, baca doa, sampailah kat tempat interview tu, kat Senai.. Masuk je kat lobby kilang tu, dgn yakinnya saya bagitau kat kak receptionist tu yg sy ada interview hari ni.. Kak receptionist pun panggil la interviewer saya tu.. Jumpa je dia, greet apa yg patut, lalu bermulalah sesi interview..

"Sebenarnya, sesi interview awak ni, minggu depan, bukan hari ni.. Dan org yg nak interview awak tu tak ada pulak hari ni.. Tapi, dah awak datang hari ni, seminggu awal, so, sayalah yg akan interview awak.."

Ah, sudah! Camne la leh tersalah tulis tarikh interview ni??

Time tu apa yg boleh saya cakap cuma,

"Oh, yeke?!" 

Ya Allah.. Malunya.. Hilang semua nervous tadi.. Apa yg dia tanya, saya main jawab je.. At the same time dalam hati, Allah je yg tau.. Nasib baiklah interviewer ni baik, tak suruh saya balik dan cakap jangan datang dah sebab tidak bertindak mengikut arahan.. Isk.. -_-"

Habis je interview tu, kwn saya dah tunggu dgn payung.. Masuk tadi cerah, keluar2 tengok dah hujan turun dgn lebat.. Mcm kena je dgn apa yg dah ada dlm hati..

"Camne interview?" Pas saya citer je, terus dia gelak..
"Tula, excited sgt.. Lain kali dengar betul2.. Dahla seminggu awal" 
.. Hahaha...

Sukanya dia ketawakan org.. Berpanjangan pulak tu.. Sepanjang perjalanan dari Senai ke Skudai.. Hmm..

Dan hari ni..

Time flies.. Masing2 dah ada keluarga masing2.. 3 tahun lost contact dgn dia, and of a sudden, here we are, talking about the good old days.. Laughing..

The best part of the story is, saya dapat kerja tu.. And we were laughingly said, it was because of my eagerness to get that job, org yg interview saya tu kesian dan bagi saya kerja tu.. Haha.. Rezeki yg tak disangka.. And eventually, I reported to him, my Sr Quality Manager.. Dia memang best..

After 4 bulan, Mak kesayangan saya call suruh balik Penang.. Kata Mak, cukup2lah 4 tahun belajar kat Johor, baliklah duduk kat Penang.. That was how I ended working in this orthopaedics company..

Alhamdulillah, berkat rezeki kerja kat situ, I was able to save enough money to bring my whole family in Penang to attend my convocation.. And also did my driving licence.. Supaya next time, bila dah balik Penang, bolehla p interview sendiri.. Hehe.. =)

Lepas baca citer yg agak panjang ni, moral citer ni ialah:

As we grow up, we tend to lock our memories, especially the silly one, which will be forgotten eventually.. Sometimes, we just need to learn to let go, have fun, laugh out loud, and be the little girl/boy that we used to be.. I did it today.. I was so happy and I can feel my eyes are filled with tears.. Thank you my dear friend.. It is a day I wish to remember.. And now you are making it 2 days to remember - yesterday and today .. Thank you..

4 days to go for "A Walk To Remember".. Penang Starwalk 2012.. =)

Penang Starwalk is an annual event kat Penang, with 2 categories, open for participation - Competition & Non-competition.. Bagi kami yg memang berniat nak jalan2, while bergambar along the so-called heritage trail, we chose the Non-competition.. Starting point - Penang Times Square.. The walking route akan cover Fort Cornwallis, City Hall, Masjid Kapitan Keling.. Total will be a round 6 km.. Utk Competition, 10 km.. (This was also one of the reason why we chose Non-competition.. Hehe..)

Actually, ni adalah kali pertama sy join this event.. Tupun tanpa disangka-sangka.. Heard about this event earlier, sebab En. Suami n his parents selalu jugak join this event dulu (it happened every year, n this year is it's 36th edition), tapi sy tak pernah terlintas nak join.. One fine day, our IT Manager came to our humble office n asked whether we wanted to join or not.. Oleh sebab this event akan diadakan on 17 Sep, Monday, which is a replacement holiday for Hari Malaysia yg jatuh pada hari Ahad, so we thought why not.. Sekali-sekala relaxkan otak dari kerja yg tak pernah siap n at the same time boleh sihatkan badan.. Lagi pulak, this will be a good chance for us, me n En. Suami, spend time together, walking, sightseeing, dating, sambil menghargai warisan sejarah di Penang.. Chewah! =)

Anyway, bermula 12 Sep until 16 Sep, participants for Non-competition dah boleh start collect t-shirt n goodies kat depan Penang Times Square.. Luckily En. Suami kerja malam, so he took this opportunity to collect these items yg kat bawah ni.. Macam2 ada.. Kalau camni, panjang umur, tahun depan leh consider participate lagi.. =)

p/s: Selamat Hari Malaysia n selamat bercuti.. Hope you'll have a fruitful weekend.. N to those yg also participate dalam Starwalk ni, see you this Monday (Insya-Allah, harap2 tu things will be going as planned).. Kalau jumpa, tegur-tegurlah ye?! Happy Moonwalking  Starwalking!!! (^_-)v

Friendship = Friend + Ship???

Assalamu'alaikum...

Finally, I had a fruitful weekend! 4 days straight! Well spent! Best sgt sbb dah lama tak dapat cuti panjang camni sejak akhir2 ni.. Really grateful.. Alhamdulillah..

Dulu, masa tgh belajar, mid sem break is the best time ever! But, I was not adventurous at that time.. So, just lepak2 kat rumah, with my beloved family, sambil menikmati masakan my mak dan ayah yg sgt best.. Seriously! =)

Sometimes, I hung out dgn my best friends.. N our favorite place is Teluk Kumbar jetty (near Kampung Nelayan) yg sgt dekat dgn rumah.. 4 of us, girls, walked together, talking, giggling, laughing, changing stories all the way from the white sandy beach until end of that jetty – middle of the sea.. Then, we sat down, watching the sunset, looking at birds flying in the sky, fishes swimming n jumping, n fishermen coming home with their boats sambil flashback our schooling years n what will our lives would be 10 years from now.. No matter how long we were apart, we always share the same story – how we love the sea n how beautiful our home is.. Those were moments that I always treasure.. It was really beautiful.. N I’m grateful for everything..

Anyway, masa dah berubah.. Cerita tinggal cerita.. All of us pun dah kahwin, busy with our own family affairs.. If we are lucky, time raya dapatlah jumpa.. But, usually memang susah nak jumpa mcm dulu2.. So, there’s no more sesi berkongsi cerita kat jetty.. Luckily ada FB.. =)

Kalau dulu, sy suka tengok fishermen balik dari laut dgn hasil tangkapan, but now, I’m finding it more thrilling if I’m able to catch the fish on my own! That is my latest addiction – Deep sea fishing! So, masa cuti hari tu, I took the opportunity (after dapat permission En. Suami yg terpaksa kerja during those 4 days break) pergi memancing kat ocean lane dekat dgn Pulau Kendi (pulau ni dinamakan Pulau Kendi sbb dari jauh bentuk dia nampak mcm kendi, tempat isi air tu..) My friend fetched me up at 7 am, n we met at Tanjung Marina City n took a boat there.. Kat bawah ni ada beberapa photos yg sempat sy snap on the way to Pulau Kendi..

It took us almost 2 hours to reach the said place.. I dozed off a couple of times also.. Bila sampai, our captain pun labuhkan sauh n let the boat settled down.. Luckily cuaca elok, even though it was really hot (En. Suami complaint ckp sy dah makin gelap..hmmm, no comment), the last time we went out for fishing, hujan sgt lebat, terus balik.. Seekor ikan pun tak dapat.. Camtula nasib fishermen kan? Bukan senang nak cari rezeki..

So, dgn berbekalkan umpan sotong n ikan kembung, we started fishing.. Ikan pertama yg sy berjaya tarik naik ialah ikan merah.. Tupun nasib je, kalau tak we don’t even have the rod with us.. Agak kuat jugak ikan tu tarik, I just prayed it wasn't a shark, takut pun ada, but alhamdulillah, rezeki.. Dapatlah ikan mcm dlm photo ni.. Kan best kalau En. Suami pun ada.. =)

Then, after that, all of us were getting more excited.. Got a lot of groupers (ikan kerapu), not so big but "will look big on our plates" - bak kata Mr. Boss.. Good size.. =) My friends even caught ikan landu (hope the spelling is right).. In fact, sy tak pernah tengok ikan ni sebelum ni.. Saiz dia kecil sikit dari ikan jenahak.. After few hours, we changed our location sbb mata kail asyik tersangkut.. Few times jugak our tali berpintal antara satu sama lain n have to cut it off.. Masa kat new location, ada banyak small fishes.. We can even see the fishes on the sea surface.. This time, we used what they called “Apollo line”, 1 line with more than 2 hooks.. At one time, we were able to get few ikan kembung, ikan plata minyak, n ikan curut because those fishes moved in groups.. Bersatu kita teguh.. =)

Menjelang petang, actions were getting lesser.. Ikan pun tau nak balik rehat.. =) So, we also made our move back home.. On the way back, sy sempat snapped few photos of Pulau Jerejak, not the resort, but the other side of the island.. Every coin have 2 faces, see it for yourself..

We reached the marina at almost 6 pm.. Tired, happy, all kinds of feeling in one.. Got good fishes, fun time with my friends, sambil menikmati keindahan alam ciptaan Allah.. Subhanallah.. 

Finally, for your view.. Fishes that we caught - given all to me.. In the name of FRIENDSHIP (n also because I'm the only girl..)! Tq guys! Then, malam tu jugak balik SP, bagi my mak masak.. Sgt sedap!!! Ikan masak 3 rasa anyone? =)

p/s: Remembering the old days, while discovering new ways of appreciating what Allah has given to us in this world.. Be grateful, Insya-Allah u will be a happier person..
